Gardens. Animals. Kids out here with dirt on their hands, learning how to grow something and take care of it. 4-H groups first, then college students, then the whole community. Church socials under the trees.
That's the dream. I'm not going to pretend it's close.
33 acres. No house. No barn. No animals. I don't even live out there yet.
What I do have is a few acres cleared and gravel going down on the paths, one load at a time. Utilities come next. Then a place to live, so I can be on the land instead of driving to it. Then fencing, then shelters, then animals.
It's going to take years . . . I'm doing it anyway.
Not just a farm that teaches kids to garden, though it will do that. I want everybody who comes out here to leave different than they came. Whether you're working, volunteering, or just standing at the fence looking at it. Peace. Room to breathe again. A place to set the heavy stuff down. God's hand on you.
Photos will go up here as the land changes. The cleared acres, the first gravel, the day the walls go up. The slow parts too, and the parts that don't work.
